The first big snowstorm of the season led to major travel issues in Wyoming this week, but also helped with the wildfire fight in parts of neighboring Montana.

The storm dropped as much as 50.8 cm (20 inches) at Soldier Park, 48.2 cm (19 inches) at Hansen Sawmill, 45.7 cm (18 inches) at Cloud Peak and 44.2 cm (17.4 inches) in Casper by October 13.

The highest total at any community at lower elevations was 45.7 cm (18 inches) in SSW of Buffalo.

  1. STOP!! This is ‘NOTHING’! Esp for WYOMING!! A FEW (3-4?) inches and they’re SHUTTING DOWN highways???? GeesusCHRIST!…….you’d think that there was 4 FOOT of snow! What the idiot ‘Accuweather dude’ spewed vs REALITY, did NOT MATCH! The BRAIN-WASHING continues!! (“they SAID it was bad……vs WHAT I SEE…….but I’ll just listen to my Daddy/Mommy tell me not to go out in the ‘big, bad SNOW!”).
