Asteroid 2019 UB8 to fly by Earth at 0.5 LD on October 29

A newly discovered asteroid designated 2019 UB8 will fly by Earth at a distance of 0.50 LD / 0.00127 AU (189 989 km / 118 053 miles) at 06:30 UTC on October 29, 2019. This is the 58th known asteroid to flyby Earth within 1 lunar distance since the start of the year and the 9th this month.
2019 UB8 belongs to the Apollo group of asteroids. It was first observed at Mr. Lemmon Survey, Arizona on October 27, two days before its close approach to our planet.
Its estimated diameter is between 4 and 8.9 meters (13 – 29 feet).
The object flew past us at a speed (relative to the Earth) of 10.57 km/s.

There are a total of 21 316 known near-Earth objects (NEOs) as of October 25, 2019, 116 more than on October 20. 108 of them are near-Earth comets (NEC), 900 are asteroids with diameters roughly 1 km (0.62 miles) and larger (NEA-km).
Our sky surveys have discovered a total of 1 926 NEOs since January 1, 2019. 1 839 were discovered during the entire 2018.
