Series of severe weather events hit plains and hills of North India over the past couple of days, producing heavy rain, snow, hailstorms and thundershowers.
Lightning strikes in Uttar Pradesh killed 12 people on February 13, including 4 school children. In addition, 35 school kids had a narrow death escape as lightning strike damaged walls and roof of a school in Soro, Kasganj.

Hailstorm wreaked havoc over crops across Uttar Pradesh, just several days after a severe hailstorm hit its Moradabad district on February 7. The heavy rains followed by hailstorm left farms completely drenched in water that day and farmers in distress as they only managed to save part of their crops.
