Faiz Ba-sura, director of the Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Authority in Hadhramaut, said the rockfall was caused by rain saturating the soil on the mountain.
Ba-sura warned residents that the cracks in the area threaten further collapses, and urged residents not to return to their threatened homes.
