Destructive tornado hits Guamúchil – Sinaloa, Mexico

A destructive tornado hit the city of Guamúchil in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico, around 18:30 LT on September 22, 2022, causing considerable damage.

According to the State Civil Protection, the twister was on the ground for about 20 minutes, causing damage mainly to roofs and powerlines.

The preliminary report indicates damage in the municipality of Salvador Alvarado, especially roof structures in the Centro, Magisterio and San Pedro neighborhoods.

One person was injured after a department store door curtain hit him in the face. There are also some unconfirmed reports of fatalities.
