Extremely rare December tornado (snownado) in Shandong, China
An extremely rare December tornado (snownado) occurred on December 1, 2022, in the Shandong peninsula, China.
This tornado was likely from a large cold air mass moving across a warmer ocean, the same mechanism as lake-effect, said Eric Wang, an extreme weather enthusiast.
The latest official tornado nationwide was documented on November 24, 1952.
