Multiple injuries reported after tornado hits Las Flores District, Buenos Aires, Argentina
A tornado touched down in the Las Flores District of Buenos Aires, Argentina, on May 6, 2026. At least 4 people were injured after a house was destroyed, burying the family within the rubble. Widespread damage was reported in the surrounding areas.
A tornado struck Paraje Harosteguy in Buenos Aires’ Las Flores district on May 6, injuring at least four people after their home was destroyed. Nearby structures and vehicles were damaged as well, including a tractor that was overturned.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the destroyed home and the family stuck inside. Soon, three adults and one minor were rescued and sent to nearby hospitals for treatment of injuries.
Tornado damage was also reported in nearby areas, including Paraje La Portena, where multiple structures were damaged and destroyed.
“Firefighters, ambulances, C.P.R., and emergency personnel worked intensively during the afternoon/night in Paraje Harosteguy, part of Las Flores, after the tornado that completely destroyed a home,” Noticias Las Flores reported.
A truck overturned near the roundabout of Route 91 amid the severe weather, injuring two people. However, some witnesses reported that the accident was due to a bad maneuver; it remains unclear if the incident was weather-related or not.
The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued multiple Red, Orange, and Yellow alerts for severe weather before the storms arrived.
