A deadly landslide struck Purworejo Regency, Central Java, at approximately 16:00 local time (LT) on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, killing at least 4 people.

A deadly landslide hit Indonesia’s Purworejo Regency on Tuesday, November 21, claiming four lives.
The incident occurred in Peniron Hamlet, Plipiran Village, Bruno District, following heavy rainfall that began on Tuesday afternoon. One house sustained severe damage as a result of the landslide.
Joint officers, led by the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), continued searching for missing victims on Wednesday, November 20.
Personnel from TNI, Polri, multiple Regional Disaster Management Agencies (BPBDs) in Central Java, the Magelang Regency Fire Department, volunteers, and local residents also participated in rescuing individuals buried by the landslide.
