SpaceX spiral and aurora over Alaska
A spectacular sight was witnessed over Alaska on April 15, 2023, when the Falcon 9 rocket launched by SpaceX from California’s Vandenberg Space Force Base discarded its upper stage and vented its unused fuel, creating a breathtaking spiral over the night sky full of aurora.
The phenomenon was recorded by an all-sky camera at the University of Alaska’s Poker Flat Research Range.
