Extreme floods hit Asunción, Paraguay
Floods in Paraguay displaced approximately 40 000 people over the past two months and caused significant losses to the country's cattle industry.
Some 10 000 people have been evacuated to capital Asunción where extreme floods took place on May 10. Locals described it as the worst in years.
According to the Associated Press, the country's cattle industry, one if its main economic drivers, has suffered significant losses. Out of 4 million cattle in Bajo Chaco (300 km / 186 miles NW of Asunción), some 480 000 are in the water or grouped in nearby higher-elevation places.
At the beginning of May, this region experienced more than 600 mm (23.6 inches) of rain in just 48 hours. Floodwaters in some places were up to 50 cm (19.6 inches) high.

Just to clarify, yes. The flood is real thing here. In some regions, and It did rain 600mm in 48hours but that picture and video in this post was the water from some random rain last Friday, the city was all fine and “dry” again in like 2 hours. For what I saw in the street, I think there was trash blocking the sewer system and that’s why the water didn’t flow correctly.
