Multiple CMEs heading toward Earth, G3 – Strong Geomagnetic Storm Watch in effect
Multiple coronal mass ejections (CMEs) produced on November 27 and 28, 2023 are heading toward Earth, with impacts expected from late November 30 to mid-day UTC on December 1, 2023. As a result, a G3 – Strong Geomagnetic Storm Watch is in effect for December 1.
Multiple CMEs produced on November 27 were modeled and determined to have at least somewhat of an Earth-directed components. Then, at 19:50 UTC on November 28, a very strong solar flare measuring M9.8 erupted from Active Region 3500, and at approximately 20:12 UTC a full halo CME appeared in LASCO C2 coronagraph imagery.
Analysis and modeling of this event determined an arrival time of early to midday on December 1.
With 3 CMEs already inbound, the addition of a 4th, full halo CME has prompted SWPC forecasters to upgrade the G2 – Moderate Geomagnetic Storm Watch on December 1 to a G3 – Strong watch.
This faster-moving halo CME is progged to merge with 2 of the 3 upstream CMEs, all arriving at Earth on December 1. G3 – Strong conditions are now likely on December 1.

There’s some really cool photo’s that watchers have submitted of the auroras to be found here. Cannibal CME Sparks Strong Geomagnetic Storm https://spaceweather.com/
Thanks!
Good afternoon Teo, The American Sleeping Prophet, Edgar Cayce (1877-1945) said that the greater earth changes occur during the highest sunspot activity. So I pay close attention within the 24-74 hour time frame of the CME’s hitting earth. Let’s see what these bring.
PS) Hope you’re having a wonderful day. 🙂
Yes. Thanks! Hope you are having a great day, too.
