A strong earthquake registered by the USGS as M6.2 hit Tonga at 13:07 UTC on June 4, 2022. The agency is reporting a depth of 238 km (147 miles). EMSC is reporting M6.3 at a depth of 251 km (155 miles).

The epicenter was located 126.4 km (78.6 miles) NW of Neiafu and 354.2 km (220.1 miles) N of Nuku’alofa, Tonga.

There are no people living within 100 km (62 miles).

There is no tsunami threat from this earthquake.
