Magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck near the north coast of Papua, Indonesia on April 21st at 01:16:54 UTC according to EMSC and PTWC. The epicenter was located 82 km (51 miles) SSE (168°) from Manokwari, Irian Jaya, 336 km (209 miles) NW (316°) from Enarotali, Irian Jaya, 339 km (211 miles) ESE (105°) from Sorong, Irian Jaya and 712 km (442 miles) ENE (71°) from Ambon, Moluccas, Indonesia (1.609°S, 134.232°E).
The depth of epicenter was 10 km (6.2 miles) according to EMSC, 33 km (20.5 miles) according to PTWC or 29.8 km (18.5 miles) according to USGS. It was followed by 5.6 aftershock at nearly the same depth - 27.6 km (17.2 miles).
Pacific Tsunami Warning center recorded magnitude 6.9 with depth of 33 km (20.5 miles). EMSC recorded magnitude 6.9 6.6 at depth of 10 km (6.2 miles). USGS recorded 6.6 magnitude at depth of 29.8 km (18.5 miles). There was no tsunami alert issued. For now, there is no report of damage or injuries.
