Large landslide hits Mixtla de Altamirano, Mexico
A major landslide took place on the Mixtla de Altamirano highway in Veracruz, Mexico early Sunday, February 11, 2024, blocking traffic to nearby communities. There were no reports of injuries or damaged homes.
Local authorities said traffic was blocked on the way to several communities, including Zacaloma, El Terrero, Atlahuixia, Tlacuazinga, Tecolotla, and Mangotitla.
State Civil Protection said there were no homes affected or people injured by this collapse of material that was of large proportions and they hope to remove it as soon as possible to free circulation in its entirety.
