Incredible footage captures avalanche heading toward Freestyle Skiing World Cup course
An avalanche in Tignes, France, was captured on camera as it headed towards the FIS World Cup Slopestyle course on March 15, 2023, where the world’s best freestyle skiers were training and about to compete in the qualification round on March 16, 2023.
US Freestyle skier Cody La Plante shared footage on his Instagram stories of the avalanche heading towards the Slopestyle course, with skiers, course officials, and shapers frantically scrambling to get away from the snow plumes. La Plante confirmed that everyone is safe, but qualifiers had to be postponed by a day due to the incident.
