The tornado moved east-northeast across the western peninsula, tearing roofs from several buildings and uprooting trees across Westmoorings and Victoria Gardens.
Preliminary assessments indicate damage consistent with a weak to moderate tornado, though the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has not yet issued official confirmation.
Meteorological conditions at the time included a line of deep convective thunderstorms along the western coast, with strong vertical wind shear and high low-level humidity, factors favorable for brief tornadic circulation.
Tornadoes in Trinidad are rare but have been recorded during intense wet-season convection. Damage assessments are ongoing.
