A very deep earthquake registered by the USGS as M6.5 hit south of Fiji islands at 10:44 UTC on November 8, 2019. The agency is reporting a depth of 582.9 km (366 miles). EMSC is reporting the same magnitude and depth.
The epicenter was located 451 km (280 miles) SSE of Levuka, Fiji and 453 km (181 miles) W of Nuku'alofa, Tonga.
There are no people living within 100 km (62 miles).
There are no tsunami warnings, watches or advisories in effect.
