Strong and shallow earthquake with magnitude 6.0 struck off the east coast of Honshu, Japan on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 07:19 UTC. Epicenter was located 179 km (111 miles) E of Morioka, Honshu, Japan (39.597°N, 143.242°E). USGS recorded depth of 10 km (6.2 miles).
