Freeze Warning for all areas in Quad Cities region, U.S.

A Freeze Warning was issued for the Quad Cities region on Monday, October 14, 2024, as the area braces for subfreezing temperatures.

A Freeze Warning is in effect for the entire Quad Cities region, which includes Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa, as well as Rock Island, Moline, and East Moline in Illinois, from Tuesday night, October 15, through Wednesday morning, October 16.

Additionally, a Frost Advisory has been issued for areas along and west of the Mississippi River for Wednesday night.

Cold conditions are expected to persist through Thursday morning, with low temperatures dropping significantly. On Tuesday morning, temperatures are forecast to range between 0.6 °C and 3.3 °C (31 °F to 38 °F).

Wednesday morning will be colder, with lows between -3.9 °C and -0.6 °C (25 °F to 31 °F). Thursday morning lows will range from -1.1 °C to 2.2 °C (30 °F to 36 °F).

Residents should take precautions ahead of the cold weather. This includes disconnecting garden hoses, turning off sprinklers, and covering or bringing sensitive plants indoors.
