Evacuation orders and warnings

Evacuation orders are in effect for areas west of Interstate 5 between Pyramid Lake and Gorman, including the Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area.

California State Park Services have evacuated 1 200 people from Hungry Valley Park. Pyramid Lake has been closed due to the threat posed by the Post Fire.

An evacuation warning has been issued for areas south of Pyramid Lake between Old Ridge Route and the LA County line, including Paradise Ranch Estates. Residents in these areas should be prepared to leave, especially those who may require additional time to evacuate. Winds are predicted to intensify from 21:00 LT to midnight on June 16, with gusts reaching up to 48 km/h (30 mph), and stronger winds exceeding 80 km/h (50 mph) at ridge tops.
