A large and impressive dust storm swept across China on April 19, 2023, ushering much colder temperatures to the country experiencing unusually high April temperatures.

The storm had a very clear boundary, making it clearly visible through geostationary satellites.

Following this dust storm, parts of northwestern China are expected to experience a dramatic shift in weather, with blizzards and temperatures dropping from 30 – 35 °C (86 – 95 °F) to about 0 °C (32 °F) in a day.
