Flash flooding hits Ha’il and Buraidah, Saudi Arabia
Heavy rainfall triggered flash flooding across Saudi Arabia on March 6, 2025, with Ha’il and Buraidah among the most affected areas.

Affected regions saw vehicles stranded in rising floodwaters as emergency services worked to manage the crisis.
Local authorities have mobilized emergency response teams, with over 350 workers and 140 pieces of equipment deployed to manage the situation. In Qassim, 85 field teams from Civil Defense and the Traffic Department are actively responding to flooding-related incidents.
Meteorological reports indicate that Al-Qahah in Badr Governorate, Madinah region, recorded 13.2 mm (0.52 inches) of rainfall between March 3 and March 4.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued a severe weather warning, urging residents to avoid flood-prone areas and stay updated through official channels. Thunderstorms are forecast to persist across most parts of the Kingdom until March 10, increasing the risk of further flooding.
Meteorological reports indicate that regions including Makkah, Riyadh, Madinah, Tabuk, Ha’il, Qassim, and the Eastern Province are expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall.
