Asteroid 2018 SN3 flew past Earth at 0.51 LD, 13th in 28 days

A newly discovered asteroid designated 2018 SN3 flew past Earth at 0.51 LD / 0.00131 AU (195 973 km / 121 772 miles) on September 16, 2018. This is now the 13^th known asteroid to flyby Earth in September 2018 and 53^rd since the start of the year.

2018 SN3 has an estimated diameter between 2.8 and 6.4 m (9 – 21 feet) and it belongs to the Apollo group of asteroids.

It flew past Earth at 20:23 UTC at a speed (relative to the Earth) of 4.04 km/s.
