Strong M6.6 earthquake hits south of the Kermadec Islands, no tsunami threat
A strong and shallow earthquake, registered by the USGS as M6.6, hit south of the Kermadec Islands at 13:44 UTC on August 14, 2022. The agency is reporting a depth of 39.1 km (24.3 miles). EMSC is reporting M6.4 at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles).
