A small area of low pressure, partially related to remnants of Hurricane “Julia” formed a little less than a hundred miles to the south of the coast of southern Mexico. The system is dropping heavy rainfall over southern parts of the country and causing dangerous flash flooding.
Tropical Storm “Kark” formed in the Bay of Campeche at 21:00 UTC on October 11, 2022, as the 11th named storm of the 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season. The system is expected to strengthen today as it moves slowly over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico.

A massive landslide hit the town of Las Tejerías, Venezuela on October 9, 2022, leaving at least 30 people dead and 54 others missing. The town is loaded 87 km (54 miles) SW of Caracas. This is one of Venezuela’s biggest landslides in decades.
