Sudden, strong rise in tide surprises visitors of Valdelagrana beach in Cádiz, Spain
A sudden, strong rise in tide surprised bathers on the beach of Valdelagrana in Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, Spain, on August 13, 2022, forcing many of them to run away.
The water rushed through the beach, flooding a hammock rental business and lifeguard post, and sweeping away personal belongings, umbrellas, garbage cans, wooden walkways and other things in its way.
Local media described the event as a ‘mini tsunami.’
