Tornado confirmed near Beiseker village in Alberta, Canada

A tornado touched down near the village of Beiseker in Alberta, Canada, at around 22:30 (16:40 LT) on Sunday, March 31, 2020. Environment Canada has confirmed the event in a weather summary issued on Monday, June 1.

"An intense low-pressure system over Alberta brought rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds to much of the province on Sunday. A brief tornado near Beiseker was also reported," the weather bureau said.

The twister was spotted 15 km (9 miles) south of the village, moving southeast at 20 km/h (12 mph). The alert ended shortly before 23:15 UTC (17:15 LT).

"A small debris cloud was seen at the base, but there have been no reports of damage," Environment Canada added. "Therefore, this tornado has been given a preliminary rating of EF-0."

As the system continues eastward, generally fair weather is expected on Tuesday, June 2, with seasonal temperatures.
