Continuous heavy rains, floods and landslides claim 72 lives, destroy or damage nearly 1 000 buildings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan
Heavy rains, floods and landslides affecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan since March 6, 2020, claimed the lives of 72 people, destroyed at least 139 buildings, and damaged at least 800 more.
Earlier this month, heavy downpours resulted in deaths of 27 people while 56 others were injured. 87 homes were partially damaged and 11 totally destroyed. Most of the victims died as a result of collapsing houses or buildings.
By March 29, the death toll rose to 72 and the number of injured to more than 141. The number of destroyed buildings rose to at least 139 and damaged to more than 800.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), relief supplies had been provided to people in the affected areas, which included the districts of Batagram, Charsadda, Sangla, Swabi, and Mardan.
