The city of Perth, Western Australia recorded 5 consecutive days of thunderstorm activity over the past week, breaking its record for the longest run of summer thunderstorm activity. Fierce storms started affecting the metropolitan area on February 25, wreaking havoc across the city.

On average, Perth has around two days of thunderstorms in the month of February, according to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. Furthermore, according to Weather Atlas, the warmest month in the city is February. Rain also falls for 2.1 days during this month.
