At least 8 missing following severe flash floods and mudslides in Tolima, Colombia

According to Colombia's National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD), heavy rain caused the El Mono creek to burst its banks, sending mud, rocks, and floodwater raging through the village of La Virginia in the municipality of Chaparral.
UNGRD reported that aside from eight missing, three homes were destroyed, and 50 people from 16 households were affected.
Roads were damaged or blocked in at least six locations. Among the ruined establishments were a health center, a school, and a church.
