Heavy rains and flash floods hit Um Kedada in North Darfur on October 4 to 6, 2019, leaving at least 367 homes damaged and many livestock perished. No human casualties were reported but many families have been left homeless.

According to the town's preliminary figures, the number of collapsed houses due to heavy rains have reached 129 in El Salam district, 121 in El Safa district, 41 in El Muzdalifa district, and 13 in Tagwa district.

Two basic schools, built by the Um Keada Platform for Enlightenment charity association founded by Ibrahim El Wali, were totally destroyed in the aftermath.

The charity and the town's committees urged federal and state governments, relief organizations, and humanitarian aid commission to act promptly to assist those affected by the severe weather, particularly the families who lost their homes.
