Tropical storm developing near Guam, potential to become major typhoon near Okinawa
There's a high chance of a new tropical storm in the next 24 hours east of Guam, Pacific Ocean. In the long-range, this storm could become a major typhoon east of Okinawa, Japan.
"First it will move over the northern Marianas missing Guam for the most part then moving northwest. This takes the Philippines out of the picture for being impacted by this storm," meteorologist Robert Speta noted. "Southern Japan including Okinawa should watch it closely though."
