A large sinkhole opened up at Tarpon Springs High School in Florida, U.S. on May 10, 2019, forcing officials to relocate some of the students.

Police and local authorities are still investigating the scene located close to the culinary arts building.

The hole is 65m (20 feet) long and about 39 m (12 feet) deep. The school officials said it does not appear to be growing.

"This is concerning," district spokesperson Lisa Wolf-Chason told Fox 13. "Anytime there is a change in the campus's structure, that is a cause for concern. But we're ahead of it. We have our district staff looking into it with the city of Tarpon [Springs] and we're making sure that students and staff are away from the area."

City officials said that there is no risk but urged students to stay away from the hole.

The culinary department has been moved to another location until authorities declare that’s safe to stay close.
