A large landslide triggered by sudden heavy rainstorms left at least 4 people missing in SW China's Chongqing Municipality (population 30 500 000) on Friday, April 19, 2019.

Chongqing's Guanba Township was hit by heavy rainfall, authorities said Saturday, triggering a large landslide in which two houses collapsed, leaving 4 residents missing.

Xinhua reported 169.8 mm (6.68 inches) in 24 hours, and 12 000 m3 (424 000 ft3) of soil landslides.

Heavy to excessive rainfall is expected across the region in the days ahead, particularly over SE China.
