Parts of Alberta, Canada recorded their snowiest September since records began.

The city of Edmonton experienced its snowiest September on record, with six consecutive days of snowfall and 22 cm (8.6 inches) reported in total so far this month. The amount broke the previous record of 12.9 cm (5 inches) measured back in 1965.

Even though it's still summer, you wouldn't know it with September snow record already being broken in Alberta, The Weather Network said. Temperatures will remain well below seasonal this week and more snow is forecast for Alberta and parts of the Prairies in the days ahead.

TWN meteorologists added that a couple of rounds of moisture in the days ahead will potentially bring the biggest snowfall amounts so far this month.
