Major flash flooding hit Turkey's Balikesir Province on September 13, 2018, damaging roads, homes and shops. There were no injuries or fatalities reported.
The city of Bandirma registered over 147 mm (5.78 inches) of rain on September 13, with most of it falling in 90 minutes during the evening hours, according to Governor Ersin Yazıcı.

Major flash floods that followed damaged roads, homes and shops, including the Erdek to Bandirma road which has been closed.
Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM) reported that wide areas of the Marmara region, including Istanbul, experienced thunderstorms that began during the afternoon of the same day. Şarköy in Tekirdağ Province recorded 105.6 mm (4.15 inches) of rain in 24 hours to September 14, FloodList reports.
