A severe thunderstorm hit parts of Crimea on September 6, 2018, dumping heavy rain and producing a rare huge waterspout tornado.

The waterspout formed in Feodosia, also called Theodosia, located some 300 km (186 miles) NE of Yalta. The twister was accompanied by strong winds and heavy rainfall.

One of the citizens said he never saw it like that. "It never flooded so much before. Especially the underground passage… it was never exactly like this."
