NWS confirms EF-2 tornado hit Goodman, Missouri
The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-2 tornado touched down in Goodman, Missouri Tuesday night, April 4, 2017, causing significant damage to homes and businesses.
It touched down at 18:48 CDT just south of Goodman (population 1 200) in McDonald County and continued for some 24 km (15 miles) northeastward into southern Newton County southeast of Neosho. The twister had estimated peak winds of 193 km/h (120 mph) and a maximum width of 274 m (300 yards).

Residents said it took just seconds for the tornado to change the landscape of the town.
Although no one was injured, numerous homes and buildings were damaged. The school in Goodman was destroyed as well as town's fire station, cars were crushed by trees, and power lines pulled down
"We're very pleased to hear that there weren't any injuries. That does go to show that the forecast of impending severe weather and the watches and warnings did pay off," NWS Warning Coordination Meteorologist Steve Runnels said.
