Norwegian photographer Stian Rekdal drove nearly 5 500 kilometers on his last month's trip to Iceland and took over 40 000 photos on the way. 3 500 of them were used to create this showcase of Iceland's natural beauty.

The glacier lagoon of Jökulsarlón with the floating icebergs was perhaps my favorite spot from the whole trip, he said in an interview for Natural Geographic which featured his video last week.

Elemental Iceland from Stian Rekdal.

Shot with Nikon cameras and lenses. Post-processed with LRTimelapse, Adobe Lightroom and Adobe After Effects. Motion control sequences done with a Stage One dolly from Dynamic Perception and a Celestron Skywatcher pan/tilt head.

Thanks to Micheal Levy for his excellent photographer's map of Iceland – international-photographer.com/maps/iceland/

  1. There is something seriously wrong with this video. First it starts out playing very glitchy before it completely freezes…just stops playing! Then the whole page freezes up! Had to use task manager to close the page, then open it again to post this. Please fix it!
