Sun produced great solar filament eruption
Solar activity is expected to be low with a slight chance for M-class flares for the next three days, mainly from Region 1569. NOAA/SWPC estimates 20% chances of M-class solar flare. Region 1564 is crackling with C-class flares.
The geomagnetic field was mostly quiet with an isolated unsettled period observed from 00:00-03:00 UTC on September 13. Solar wind speeds increased from approximately 290 km/s to 400 km/s. Earth’s polar magnetic field is mostly quiet again, but more auroras around Arctic circle are expected on September 14-15 due to the effects of a coronal hole high-speed stream (CH HSS).
Region 1564 rotated around the west limb on September 12. Region 1569 increased in magnetic complexity and is now considered a beta-gamma type group. New sunspot emerges on the far side. A pair of coronal holes is emerging over the sun’s eastern limb.
Another SDO eclipse was observed again today by Earth passing between the Sun and the SDO Spacecraft. Blackout period was observed from 06:30 till 07:14 UTC.
